Chris comes to the club from Toowoomba as the incumbent South QLD Country Keeper and is very keen to further his cricketing ability with a stint on the Gold Coast this season.

Having made his 1st GRade debut at the age of 15 in 2007, Chris has established himself over the last ten years as one of the premier players in the Toowoomba 1st Grade competition. Locally his achievements include three premierships with Northern Brothers Diggers, TCI team of the Year (4 times 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017), Most Dismissals (Twice 2012,2017) and Most Runs TCI A Grade (2013). Chris`s success locally has led him to represent both Toowoomba and South QLD Country where his performances have included two Schaffer Shield Centuries for Toowoomba.

In 2015 Chirs had a stint playing in the UK for Paultons Cricket Club where he topped the Southern Premier League with the most dismissals for the year.

We are excited to welcome Chris to the club and can’t wait to see him in the Bullsharks 1st Grade team.

Gold Coast Cricket are pleased to announce trials are to be held for the under 12 to Under 15 Representative season.

The Trials will be held over the following two dates;

• Sunday 3rd September
• Sunday 10th September.
• (Coach’s will leave 17th for a date to be used if required.)

Under 12- Coomera Hope Island ( 3pm for Under 12 Burleigh Juniors)
Under 13 – Mudgeeraba Nerang DCC commencing at 10am
Under 14 – Palm Beach at 10am
Under 15 – Burleigh Cricket club at 10am.

Selectors are as follows.
Under 12 – Cameron Gahan (Coach) , Gareth Robertson , Neville Taylor and Rob Milde.
Under 13- Matt Swann (Coach) Nic Perria, Rory Solomon.
Under 14- Danny Tripp (coach) Jerry Cassel, Don Gumm and Richard Griffiths.
Under 15- Brendan Callaghan (Coach) Trevor Greentree.
Under 16- will trial at Dolphins cricket club for selection for Taverners and Shane Watson sides before a side will be selected to go to Mackay to represent the Gold Coast In December at the Bulls masters Challenge. Craig Mallory will be looking after this side.

Burleigh Cricket Club

Brecko, as he is more affectionately known, is a strong left arm bowler and left handed middle order batsman that will add great variation and depth to the club. He has knocked up 3357 runs at an average of 30.24 as well as taking 212 wickets at an average of 17.57 for his home club Bury CC. Brecko has representative honours under his belt after being selected to represent Lancashire in the U/15 and U/17 divisions also.

We are excited to welcome Alex to the club on his first overseas adventure and am sure he will fit right in with the Bullshark culture!!

Rhys was brought over to Australia from New Zealand during the summer of 2016/17 by the Bullsharks as an overseas professional and his ever energetic attitude and pleasant nature combined with his skills and experience on the field made him a perfect candidate to assist our new Coaching Director Simon Belston for the upcoming season. Rhys had no problems fitting into the culture of the club or Australia for that matter, so much so that he is seriously considering calling Australia home from this season onwards.

At 25 years old you could be excused for thinking Rhys was relatively new to the game but he has an amazing wealth of experience, playing cricket across multiple nations including Holland, New Zealand, England and obviously now Australia.

On the field, Rhys is an aggressive top order batsman who has no problem putting a boundary or two away early. Currently, Rhys is playing in Holland for Voorburg CC which is the second national tier competition as well as back home in NZ where he plays for Waikato Valley, he also managed to amass 1,547 runs at an average of 41.81 in his 2 seasons with Bury as an overseas professional as well. The performances across all countries and conditions also earned him the honour of being a representative of Tazz Cricket.
