Burleigh Cricket Club Coaching Director Announcement

The Burleigh Bullsharks are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Belston as head coach for the next 2 seasons.

Simons appointment comes in just his 2nd season with the club after a more than successful 1st year in which he was selected for the Gold Coast Thunder representative side after just 2 club games. He went on to be named Player of the Tournament and was subsequently chosen to represent the South Queensland team, a major achievement after just a handful of games in the competition.

Simon also took out the 1st XI Club bowler of the season as well as the prestigious Paul Azzopardi Medal, awarded to the best turf cricketer in the club. Needless to say, Simon has had a huge impact at our club in a short amount of time.

Simon and his family made the move to Australia in early 2016 all the way from his hometown of Bury, England where he enjoyed major success as captain/coach of Bury 1st XI for 8 seasons. In this time, he amassed over 5000 runs as well as over 200 wickets.

As a club, we could not be more excited for the time that lays ahead under Simons guidance and forward thinking.

Congratulations Simon, we are all looking forward to a successful 2017/18.
